CDE Composite (W-CDMA(3GPP)/HSPA)

CDE Composite trace shows the channel power error values for each active Code Channel for all code layers (Spread Code Lengths). It also shows the CDE value for each inactive Code Channel at the lowest code layer. The CDE of a particular Code Channel is a measure of the error power in a Code Channel relative to the total signal power. When Normalize IQ Traces is on, the CDE is expressed in dBc deciBels referenced to the carrier: A technique for expressing a power measurement in logarithmic form using the carrier power as a reference., and is relative to the total power in the signal. When Normalize IQ Tracesis off, the CDE is expressed in dBm deciBels referenced to a milliWatt: dB relative to 1 milliwatt dissipated in the nominal input impedance of the analyzer.

CDE Composite trace data results are computed only from the first measured Slot after the Measurement Offset.

MIMO Multiple Input, Multiple Output: A physical layer (PHY) configuration in which both transmitter and receiver use multiple antennas. Measurements (Downlink only): There is a seperate trace result for each measurement Antenna (x).

Display Format

The data is shown in a multi-color format that assigns a unique color to each code layer and then fills each related active Code Channel with the same color. This makes it easy to visually identify and distinguish the active code channels for a given code layer (Spread Code Length). The colors are also user definable (see Display Preferences > Color tab).

For CDP and CDE trace data displays with separate I/Q channel trace bars, to position the Marker to the desired Code Layer/Channel bar, click in close proximity to the horizontal bar that indicates the value of the Code Channel being measured.

Use the CDE Layer trace data display to view only one code layer (Spread Code Length/Symbol Rate) at a time.
