Common Commands

Common commands are defined by the IEEE 488.2 standard. They control generic device functions that are common to many different types of instruments. Common commands can be received and processed by FlexPLL, whether they are sent as separate program messages or within other program messages. The *STB?, *SRE, *ESR?, and *ESE commands set and query top-level registers in the status reporting system. Lower-level status registers are controlled using commands in the :STATus subsytem.
