Time (802.16 OFDM)

When 802.16 OFDM Demodulation is enabled, the Time trace shows the time record before digital demodulation and after pulse search, as shown in the following block diagram (refer to the Digital Demodulation Block Diagram).

The amount of data included in the Time trace trace data is a function of the Result Length, Measurement Interval and Measurement Offset parameters. The following topics describe how these parameters affect the Time trace data:

Time trace data and Result Length parameters

Automatic / From FCH modes: The Time trace data shows the data specified by the Max Result Length parameter:
- If Max Result Length is less than the burst length, the Time trace data shows the number of symbol-times specified by the Max Result Length parameter +/- 10% of the Max Result Length plus the preamble.
- If Max Result Length is greater than the burst length, the Time trace data shows the entire burst +/- 10% of the burst length (includes the preamble).

Manual mode: The Time trace data shows data for the number of symbol-times specified by the Manual parameter plus 10% of the Manual length plus the preamble.

Time trace data and Measurement Interval/Offset parameters

Measurement Interval not equal to Max Result Length

When the Measurement Interval and Measurement Offset parameters are used to specify the acquired measurement data, the Time trace data includes only the data specified by the Measurement Interval parameter. The trace data shows only data for the symbol-times specified within the Measurement Interval, all other data before and after the Measurement Interval is excluded. This also means that preamble data will not be shown when using Measurement Interval and Measurement Offset parameters.

Measurement Interval equal to Max Result Length

When the Measurement Interval is equal to Max Result Length, the Time trace data is controlled and specified by the Max Result Length parameter, see Automatic mode described previously for more information.

Time trace data and Averaging

Time trace data is unaffected by time averaging.
