Scoring (Pulse)
Menu Path:
The Analysis tab's Scoring panel lets you configure pulse scoring for the current measurement. The scoring feature compares the measurement pulse pattern against a list of reference pulses, and calculates a quality index of one or more pulses based on the configured pulse parameters/metrics (Top Level, Width, PRI, Freq Mean and FM Frequency Modulation Slope) and compared against a list of reference pulses. See About Pulse Scoring for more information.
Scoring results are displayed in the Pulse Table and are scored as a 0 (worst) to 1 (best) range value. See the Scoring Metric topic for more information.
-
Scoring Enable -- Allows you to enable or disable pulse scoring for the current measurement.
-
Start Pulse Number -- Specifies the number of the first pulse to be used as reference pulses for pulse scoring. Click the Copy Measured Pulses button after setting Start Pulse Number and Stop Pulse Number.
-
Stop Pulse Number -- Specifies the number of the last pulse to be used as reference pulses for pulse scoring. Click the Copy Measured Pulses button after setting Start Pulse Number and Stop Pulse Number.
-
Copy Measured Pulses -- Copies pulse characteristics into the Scoring Reference collection. The function determines which pulses to copy using the Start Pulse Number and Stop Pulse Number parameters. The resulting pulses are listed in the Scoring Reference collection table below the Copy Measured Pulses button.
You can directly edit the reference pulses in the table, and you can save/recall the pulses in a table. See About Pulse Scoring for more information about reference pulse patterns. -
Sequence Offset Auto -- When enabled (checked), the software automatically detects the correct sequence offset to align the reference sequence with the measured sequence. If the Auto selection cannot detect the proper offset, uncheck the Auto checkbox to manually adjust the reference sequence offset.
Default: Enabled
-
Scoring Metrics and Base Error -- This group of parameters sets the base error for the metrics used to calculate the Scoring results.
-
Top Level -- Includes or excludes the upper limit metric in the pulse scoring calculation. When enabled, enter the base error value.
-
Width -- Includes or excludes the width metric in the pulse scoring calculation. When enabled, enter the base error value.
-
PRI -- Includes or excludes the PRI metric in the pulse scoring calculation. When enabled, enter the base error value.
-
Freq Mean -- Includes or excludes the mean frequency metric in the pulse scoring calculation. When enabled, enter the base error value.
-
FM Slope -- Includes or excludes the FM slope metric in the pulse scoring calculation. When enabled, enter the base error value.
