Current Statistics (Pulse)
Menu Path:
The Current Statistics table is a type of Matrix Table that displays the Minimum, Maximum, Average, RMS, and Standard Deviation (Std Dev) of each reported performance metric based on the set of detected pulses within the current Acquisition Time interval.
Statistics are derived from the current stream of pulses. Each measurement is considered a new group of data. For example, if there are four pulses in a measurement, then the statistical parameters of the four pulses are calculated. The maximum of the four pulses is computed and listed as the maximum.
Statistics are calculated for each parameter. For example, if there are four pulses, then Max will be the maximum rise time for the four pulses. Similarly, Min is the minimum rise time for the four pulses:
Statistics are divided into two groups:
- Statistics for the current record, and
- Cumulative Statistics gathered since the last measurement restart. Trend analysis can be enabled or disabled without resetting the measurement.
The statistics captured are:
-
Maximum -- maximum value for given metric for all of the measured pulses under consideration
-
Minimum -- minimum value for given metric for all of the measured pulses under consideration
-
RMS -- root mean square of given metric for all of the measured pulses under consideration
-
Average -- average of given metric for all of the measured pulses under consideration
-
Std Dev -- standard deviation of given metric for all of the measured pulses under consideration
-
Count -- number of points included in the calculation of the statistics for each metric
There is no separate Count row for Median and Mode since the Count row is accurate for those metrics until the number of points in the Count row is greater than the trend buffer length, at which time the count for Mode and Median is the trend buffer length.
