Direction (RFID)

Default: Auto (See RFID Standard Setups/Presets Table)

The Direction settings specifies how to decode the examined portion of the RFID exchange. Select:

When the Auto and the Burst Search checkboxes are selected, the Acquisition Time trace designates the direction of the burst specified by the Burst Index parameter. As shown in the following illustration, the forward bursts have a downward-pointing highlight, while the return bursts have an upward-pointing highlight. The burst specified by the Burst Index parameter has a different color that the remaining bursts.

To specify the direction of the burst, clear the Auto checkbox and select the Direction from the drop down list.

When Auto is not selected, the software does not check the direction of the burst for validity. The direction that is selected with Direction determines how the burst is demodulated and decoded. If a forward burst is specified with the Direction parameter and then using the Burst Index parameter a return burst is selected, that burst will not be properly decoded. For this reason the default Auto setting should generally be used.

Note also that averaging is allowed only when Auto is not selected.
