Number of Spatial Streams (802.11n/ac/ax/be)

Number of Spatial Streams specifies how many spatial streams the 802.11n/ac/ax signal contains. This group of parameters is visible when an 802.11ax standard (HE format) is selected, and enabled when SU Single user is set as the PPDU Format (802.11ax only).

The Number of Spatial Streams can be set to Automatic, From SIG Symbol (Recommended), or Manual. The VSA supports any number of spatial streams when this parameter is set to Automatic or From SIG Symbol.

In the case that you have fewer measurement channels than transmit channels from your 802.11n/ac/ax transmitter, and your transmitter is transmitting a Direct Map signal, you can partially demodulate the signal by connecting your available measurement channels to some of the transmit channels. This is because each transmitter of a Direct Map signal is essentially independent of the other transmitters.
