Resonant Cavity Measurements using Option 003

Option 003 is a separate software program that facilitates making permittivity measurements using resonant cavities.

Resonant cavities provide hi-energy environments for very sensitive measurements of low-loss dielectrics.

The following methods are used to measure materials with the Resonant Cavity Measurements (Opt. 003) software.

• ASTM 2520

• Split Cylinder

• Split Post

• TE01delta

To use this option, click Resonant Cavity Measurements on the Measurement Launcher dialog.

Save/Recall Setup

This allows the current setup to be saved or recalled. Saving a file with the name 85071.cav allows the software to start-up in that state. This file needs to be saved in the start-up directory. This is usually the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Keysight\Materials Measurement Suite\Data and Setup” directory.

Save Data

This allows the measurement results to be saved away in a tab separated text file that is compatible with most spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel. If an existing file is selected the new information will be appended to that file.
