:INSTrument:CONNection:DISConnect

Command Syntax

:INSTrument:CONNectionN:DISConnect

Where N identifies a specific instrument by connection number and must be selected from {1:8}. For example, :CONNection2.

Description

For the indicated connection number, disconnects a simulated instrument, or M8195A or M8696A arbitrary waveform generator. When Infiniium is running on a PC, this command can be used to remove a connection to an oscilloscope from connection 1.

Disconnecting an instrument disconnects the oscilloscope connection. The oscilloscope's identification string is remains assigned to the connection, but the connection is specified as being empty instead of holding the oscilloscope. This can be seen using the :INSTrument:CONNection:SELection query. Executing this command (or the :INSTrument:CONNection:CONNect command) on an empty (unassigned) connection results in a settings conflict error.
