The S963015B SSA-X Signal Source Analyzer advanced features is required to enable this application.

Feature

The transient measurement allows you to observe the frequency, phase and power transition over time. It has two measurement modes: Wide-Narrow band mode and Narrow-Narrow band mode.
Wide band mode is useful for observing overall transient behavior. Narrow band mode is useful for observing the precise behavior at the settling and/or at start of the transition.

Hardware Setup

A PLL DUT should be connected on either RF 1 Input or RF 2 Input in the two port hardware configuration. One channel can measure one port only. If you want to measure PLLs on both RF 1 and 2 inputs, at least two channels are required.

How to start Transient
Using Hardkey/SoftTab/Softkey	Using a mouse
On the analyzer, press Meas > Meas Class.... Select Transient, then click OK. In the Confirm Measurement Class Change dialog, click OK to proceed or Cancel to exit. The Transient application is displayed (shown below).	Click Instrument. Select Meas Class.... Select Transient, then click OK. In the Confirm Measurement Class Change dialog, click OK to proceed or Cancel to exit. The Transient application is displayed (shown below).

Exiting Transient Application

Select a different Measurement Class for the currently active channel.
