Extended Range Dynamic Power Measurement Troubleshooting
Last updated: January 16, 2009
Possible Setup Issues
-
The Extended Range Dynamic Power measurement can be made in
Active Cell Operating Mode
or
FDD Test Operating Mode
. It is not performed with a call established between the test set and UE. Rather, you must place your UE into a test mode which forces it to transmit two power sequences you desire to measure and 15 power steps (timeslots) in the middle of the two power sequences to allow the test set to re-range its receiver.
-
Before initiating the measurement, you must first set
Measurement Frequency
to the UE's transmit frequency and set
Manual Power
to the maximum power expected from the UE's first power sequence. (To best utilize the 45 dB dynamic range of the test set's receiver, the
Manual Power
should be set the highest power level of the first power sequence.)
-
The measurement must be properly triggered once it has been initiated. See
Triggering the Extended Range Dynamic Power Measurement
for details.
-
Ensure that the measurement setup parameters meet their respective requirements. See
Extended Range Dynamic Power Measurement Parameters
for details.
-
See
Operating Considerations
for more possible setup issues you should pay attention to.
Other Considerations
-
Ensure that you have entered the proper
Amplitude Offset
values for your test setup. Absolute measurement results are affected by any amplitude offsets that are entered (relative measurement results are not).
-
Ensure that the power sequence to be measured meet the
Extended Range Dynamic Power Input Signal Requirements
.
-
Before performing an Extended Range Dynamic Power measurement, ensure that the measurement has been properly calibrated (see
Calibrating the Test Set
).
-
To ensure that the measurement is not interrupted by other operations, it is recommended that you not send any GPIB commands to the test set or press any front panel keys until the measurement has completed.
-
Check to see if an integrity indicator other than 0 (normal) was returned with the measurement result (see
Integrity Indicator
).
