Enhanced Jitter Analysis License

The Enhanced Jitter Analysis license activates Jitter Mode to provide jitter analysis tools. Once installed, press the Jitter Mode button to start Jitter mode. Results are provided in both tables and graphs. Jitter Mode is extended into the amplitude domain by the Advanced Amplitude Analysis/RIN/Q-factor feature.

Jitter Analysis provides measurements such as:

  • Total Jitter (TJ)
  • Deterministic Jitter (DJ)
  • Data-Dependent Jitter (DDJ)
  • Random Jitter (RJ)
  • Periodic Jitter (PJ)
  • Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI)
  • Duty-Cycle Distortion (DCD)
  • Additional graphs of BER Bathtub, SRJ Spectrum, and PJ Waveforms
  • Analysis of the frequency content of periodic jitter. This includes periodic jitter that is correlated (or synchronous) to the symbol rate and periodic jitter that is uncorrelated from the symbol rate (asynchronous PJ). The synchronous periodic jitter, also known as Sub Rate Jitter (SRJ) or word-synchronized distortion, is synchronous with the clock symbol and has a frequency that is equal to the symbol rate divided by an integer from 2 to 32.

The Enhanced Jitter Analysis license also allows FlexDCA unrestricted import of text based data files (.csv, .txt) and xml based files (.wfmx, .cgsx). This feature is enabled for FlexDCA if any of the following conditions are true:

On the N1000A, this feature requires hardware option PLK (Pattern Lock Trigger). On the 86100D, this feature requires hardware option ETR (Enhanced Trigger).
