Firewall

If you cannot establish remote connection to the N1000A or 86100D, the instrument's Windows Firewall may be blocking access to ports 4880, 5024-5025. This procedure shows you how to enable these ports. These settings allow control of the instrument over SICL/LAN and allow the Keysight Connection Expert to locate the instrument.

1. Minimize the FlexDCA application to view the Windows desktop.
2. In the Windows Start, click the Search field and type "Windows Firewall". When the search completes, select Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
3. In the Windows Firewall with Advanced Security application, select Inbound Rules in the left pane. Then, in the right pane, click New Rule.
4. In the New Inbound Rule Wizard, select Port and then Next.  Select the Specific local ports field and enter: 4880, 5024-5025. Then, click Next.
5. In the Action panel, select Allow the connection. Then, click Next.
6. In the Profile panel, select Domain, Private, and Public. Then, click Next.
7. In the Name panel, name your rule and then click Finish.
