Welcome

This help file describes the PD1000A Power Device Measurement System for Advanced Modeling control software and how to use it. Specifically, it applies to:

PD1000A: Control Software version 2023.324 (or later)
PD1500A: Control Software version 2023.324 (or later) with Test Fixture Firmware version A.02.06 (or later) (or later)
PD1550A: Control Software version 2023.324 (or later).

The PD1000A graphical user interface main screen contains a task bar, four test selection tabs on the left side, a parameter input area in the center, and a data display area on the right side (for on-state and off-state S-parameter and Double-Pulse tests).

System Summary

The PD1000A Power Device Measurement System for Advanced Modeling consists of several pieces of test equipment plus the PD1000A Control Software. The PD1000A software drives the test measurements, plots the device-under-test measurement data, and saves the measurement data.

Prerequisites

Keysight IO Libraries Suite, available free at: www.keysight.com/find/iosuite, is required and must be installed before you can use this control software.

Download required configuration files for the IV/CV tests. See Install PD1000A Configuration Files for more information.

For PD1000A Control Software version 2023.324 (or later):
  - S-parameter tests require a PD1010B license
  - Double-Pulse Test Measurements require a PD1020A License
  - Offline Analysis for Double-Pulse Tests requires a PD1021A license
  - GaN device Double-Pulse Tests require a PD1030A license.
  - The IV/CV tests do not require licensing.

Getting Started

The PD1000A Control Software has three configuration steps that must be done before running any test:

Configure Global Settings (see “Settings > Global Settings”) that include the output folder and file names for your characterization data.

Configure the Test System Hardware for the specific test you want to run.

Configure the Test System Parameters for the specific test you want to run.

The icon opens the PD1000A Help file (the file you are currently reading). While the software is running, you can also open help by pressing the F1 key on the system keyboard.
