Disconnecting from Measurement Hardware
All communication between the VSA software and any measurement input hardware can temporarily be stopped by clicking
.Communication begins again when a measurement is started or continued. The VSA reconfigures the measurement hardware before starting or resuming the measurement. The following actions cause the VSA to reconnect with hardware and resume the measurement:
- Measurement control changes, including:
- Any measurement setup change, include frequency, average, input range, coupling, and trigger parameters.
- Any demodulation setup change, including changing the measurement type ( )
- Some trace setup changes, including Data and Format, but not X/Y/Demod scaling.
- Enabling or disabling spectrogram and changing Buffer Depth (changing Color Count, Color Scheme, Enhance, or Threshold does not cause a reconnect).
- Enabling or disabling the marker Frequency Counter
- Changing the measurement hardware ( ) or hardware parameters (in the tab).
- Changing the Frequency Reference
- Changing Calibration properties or performing a Single Cal or Extended Cal
