IQ Meas (MB-OFDM)

Menu Path: Trace > Data > Composite > IQ Meas

The composite IQ Meas "OFDM Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing: OFDM employs multiple overlapping radio frequency carriers, each operating at a carefully chosen frequency that is Orthogonal to the others, to produce a transmission scheme that supports higher bit rates due to parallel channel operation. OFDM is an alternative tranmission scheme to DSSS and FHSS. Measurement" trace is a subcarrier-domain trace that shows the measured IQ symbol values of the subcarriers across the selected symbol-times (bursts) for all occupied bands. The symbol-times of interest are selected using Result Length, Measurement Offset, and Measurement Interval (the results of these settings appear as TimeLen on your trace). To learn more, see Lengths, Intervals, and Offsets.

If the trace reports DATA? instead of data, see Trace Problems.

This subcarrier-domain trace is similar to the IQ Meas Time symbol-domain trace. Both traces can be examined for patterns that reveal problems that are specific to symbols or subcarriers. For a trace of an ideal IQ, see IQ Ref. For trace identification, the pilot and guard symbols are colored differently than the data symbols.

Setup Example

Let Result Length = 12 | Measurement Offset = 0 | Measurement Interval = 6 | TFC = 1. For these conditions, this trace displays a constellation diagram with symbol-times 0 to 5, which means if Markers > Show Marker is turned on and a symbol in the constellation is selected, the marker reports either symbol-time 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5, then the associated symbol subcarrier -61 to -1 and +1 to +61, plus Band High, Band Mid, or Band Low, and the normalized IQ measurement. For trace identification, the pilot and guard symbols are colored differently than the data symbols.
