:FUNCtion:YUNits?
Query Syntax
:FUNCtionN:YUNits?
Where N identifies one of sixty four {1:64} math functions that you can create. For example, :FUNCtion2.
Description
Queries the amplitude units for a function's waveform.
Returned Values
Base units or combined units can be returned depending on the function operation.
| Base Unit | In SCPI Return Value |
|---|---|
| Volt | VOLT or V or VOL if combined |
| Amp | AMP or A if combined |
| Watt | WATT or W if combined |
| unknown | UNKN or U if combined |
| Composed Unit | In SCPI Return Value |
|---|---|
| Coulomb (Amp * Second) | COUL or C if combined |
| Henry (Ohm * Second) | HENR or H if combined |
| Farad (Coulomb / Volt) | FAR or F if combined |
| Ohm (Volt / Amp) | OHM or O if combined |
| Watt (Volt * Amp) | WATT or W if combined |
| Joule (Watt * Second) | JOUL or J if combined |
| Operators | In SCPI Return Value |
|---|---|
| Inverse | I |
| Squared (or like units Multiplied) | SQ |
| Square Root | R |
| Differentiate | <Y_unit>P<X_unit> (rate, per <X_unit>) |
| Integrate | <Y_unit><X_unit> (Y·X units) |
| FFT | DB<Y_unit> |
Combined units are shortened to three or four characters according to SCPI conventions. So, for example:
- The multiplied or squared Volt units are returned as "VSQ"
- Volt units multiplied by Amp units are returned as "WATT"
- The square root of Volt units are returned as "RVOL"
- The square root of "Volt2*second" units are returned as "VRS"
- The differential of Volt Y units and Second X units are returned as "VPS"
- The differential of Amp Y units and Volt X units are returned as "IOHM"
- The integral of Volt Y units and Second X units are returned as "VSEC"
- The integral of Amp Y units and Watt X units are returned as "AWAT"
- The integral of Amp Y units and Second X units are returned as "COUL" (for Coulomb, not "ASEC")
- The square of Coulomb units are returned as "CSQ"
- The integral of Coulomb2 Y units and Second X units are returned as "CSS" (Coulomb squared seconds)
- The FFT of Volt Y units are returned as "DBV"
