Description
Moves the Pk-Pk Amplitude measurement to the top of the Results table. Displays the measurement if it is not already shown on the table. The query form of the command returns the measured value. Pk-Pk Amplitude is an IEEE 802.3cu compatible measurement. Sources can be any displayed waveform, color-grade memory, or function. For example, CHAN1_1, CGMemory1, or FUNCtion1.
The PAM Pk-Pk amplitude (in V or W) measurement is defined as:
Where:
- Pmax is based on a 1e-2 hit ratio, where Pmax is the smallest power level that results in the number of samples above that level not exceeding the product of hit ratio and total number of observed samples. All samples are acquired in a single unit interval eye diagram.
- Pmin is based on a 1e-2 hit ratio, where Pmin is the largest power level that results in the number of samples below that level not exceeding the product of hit ratio and total number of observed samples. All samples are acquired in a single unit interval eye diagram.
The hit ratio default setting is 1e-2 and is based on the IEEE 802.3cu standard. However, you can change this ratio using the :MEASure:EYE:PAM:PPAMplitude:THRatio command.
Use the :MEASure:EYE:WINDow:LEFT, :MEASure:EYE:WINDow:RIGHt, and :MEASure:EYE:WINDow:METHod commands to change the eye boundary settings. Use :MEASure:TBASe:GENeral:METHod to change the definition of the waveform's top/base. Use the :<waveform>:THReshold:GENeral:METHod command to change the definition of the waveform's threshold.
