Simulated Modules

Simulated modules allow you to work offline in Eye, Scope, and Jitter modes. There is no simulated TDR/TDT module. Simulated modules include configurable simulated waveforms where you can set the waveform's type (clock, data, function, or file), symbol rate, amplitude, and offset. You can even apply random jitter and noise. You can even load a saved internal-format waveform file (.wfmx) or pattern waveform (.csv) file into the simulated source. The following simulated modules are available:
- Dual electrical
- Dual optical
- Optical/Electrical
- Quad electrical
To install a simulated module

- In the Extended Module Configuration dialog shown in the following picture, click the Simulation tab.
- Click Simulation to view the available simulated modules, which allow you create simulated waveforms that can be displayed and measured just as you would a real waveform.
- Drag the simulated pictures between the Extended Modules palette and the extended slots. The destination slot need not be empty.
- Click on an extended module picture to open the Configure Simulation Source dialog box.
