Selecting TD-SCDMA Demodulation

(option B7X only)

Sets the VSA to demodulate TD-SCDMA modulated signals.

After selecting the demodulator, set the configuration parameters. Use the Preset to Standard property on the Format tab of the TD-SCDMA Demod Properties dialog box to automatically set the configuration parameters or the parameters can be set manually in the TD_SCDMA Demod Properties dialog box.

Reviewing Setting up a TD-SCDMA Measurement is also recommended before setting these parameters.

Example recordings

The 89600 VSA includes several example TD-SCDMA signals that can be used to help you learn how to use the TD-SCDMA demodulator. The included signals are listed in the Demo and Recorded Signals topic in the Getting Started book.

Connecting to an Keysight ESA VSA

Due to ESA memory limitations and demodulation algorithm latency requirements, the 89600 VSA software is not able to perform TD-SCDMA demodulation at all when the ESA is in the alias-protected mode. Also, when the ESA is in the non-alias protected mode, the Result Length is limited to 5 sub-frames with a Start Boundary of Sub-frame and 2 sub-frames with a Start Boundary of "2 Frames". This 2 sub-frame limitation on results synchronized to 2 frame boundaries can be removed by supplying an external 2-frame trigger and setting the Start Boundary to Sub-frame. The trigger delay can then be used to adjust where the boundary is located within the Result Length (see ESA Setup).

There are special limitations when connected to an Keysight ESA, for specific information see ESA Setup.
