:CHANnel:PROBe:ID
Command Syntax
:CHANnel{1:8}{A|B|C|D}:PROBe:ID <model number>
Where the required specifier {1:8}{A|B|C|D}
identifies a channel by its module slot number and channel letter. For example, channel 3C (CHANnel3C
).
The channel specifier will fail if it does not include a slot number. If instead the suffix's channel letter is missing, the command defaults to letter A
. As a result, the best practice is to always explicitly specify the channel by including both the module slot number and channel letter.
<model number> is a string of one of the following probe model numbers: "N2803A", "N2802A", "N2801A", "N2800A", "1169A", "1168A", "1158A", "1157A", "1156A", "1152A", "1134A", "1132A", "1131A".
Query Syntax
:CHANnel{1:8}{A|B|C|D}:PROBe:ID?
Returns the model number of the connected probe or an NULL string if no probe is attached to the channel input.
Description
Specifies a probe that is connected to a channel input. FlexDCA recognizes that a probe has been connected to the module's front-panel Probe Power connector, but does not have the ability to identify the probe model number. Use this command to enter the model number to FlexDCA. If your probe is:
- Not a directly supported model number but still requires an N1022A/B or N5477A adapter, connect the probe and specify a model number of a similar probe that has the same attenuation factor.
- Not similar to a supported probe or does not use an adapter, define the probe as an external attenuator using the
:CHANnel:ATTenuator:STATe
,:CHANnel:ATTenuator:DECibels
, and:CHANnel:ATTenuator:RATio
commands.
Use the :CHANnel:PROBe:MODE
command to specify differential or single-ended measurements. Use the :CHANnel:PROBe:STATe
command to query to see if a probe is attached to a channel.
Directly Supported Probes
Refer to the individual probe documentation for the latest information on product specifications.
Always use the proper connection technique when connecting N2800A-series probes to the oscilloscope. The procedure is located in the FlexDCA User's Help.
