Measurement Database

Constructing a waveform sweep for a waveform with a long record-length takes more time than constructing a sweep for a short record length. However, in the same amount of time, a shorter record length creates a "deeper" database. The total number of data points captured has not appreciably changed, just the data distribution in the database (length versus number of waveforms).

This topic describes the Acquisition Setup dialog's Waveform tab when FlexDCA is in Jitter Mode. Use the Acquisition Setup dialog's Waveform tab to define the way you want the instrument to acquire data from the input waveform. In Jitter Mode, normally all dialog settings are grayed out and FlexDCA automatically configures the settings including setting the Samples / UI to Automatic. However, in certain conditions FlexDCA will allow you to manually set the Samples / UI. This can happen, for example, if you are using a signal processing operator like SIRC. It is recommended that you use the Automatic setting.

Click Setup > Acquisition to open this dialog. Or, click the Acquisition button, located at the bottom of the screen.
