Versus Operators
The Versus (X vs. Y) math operator plots the source 1 amplitude on the vertical Y-axis and the source 2 amplitude on the horizontal X-axis. You can use Versus to compare frequency and phase relationships between two signals. When scaling (vertical and horizontal) is set to Auto , the instrument automatically selects vertical scale, offset, horizontal scale, and position to view the entire function on the display screen. The function then tracks any scale, offset, or position changes you make to the source waveform. If you set the scaling (vertical and horizontal) to Manual, you can define a different scale, offset, and position than the original source waveform. The function will not track any changes you make to the source waveform.
You can apply a constant to the Versus operator.
The X and Y values displayed in the marker values tab are the values of the amplitudes of the two sources used for the function.
When you switch to manual marker mode, the values displayed in the X and Y marker control boxes are the amplitudes of the two sources used for the function.
The operator's Display Setup configures the manner in which the resulting waveform is displayed including both vertical and horizontal scaling. Track selection to allows the output waveform to track changes to the scaling of the input waveform. Track is the default setting. In addition, you can turn the waveform's display off or on and select the color of the trace.
Use the Name button to give the displayed waveform a custom identifying name which is show in the Signals area on the display graticule and in the Signals palette. Custom names are very helpful for screen captures or when multiple waveforms are displayed.
The Graph Window is available when multiple waveform content windows are used.
Use the Signal Type's Track selection to allows the waveform type (NRZ or PAM4) to track the input waveform's type. Track is the default setting. If input waveform's type cannot be automatically determined, select Manual to specify the waveform type.
