PLTS Licensing Overview

This overview provides links to topics that describe how to get a software license and download the software, request software updates, and renew your SUS (Software Update Service) subscription.

When you are sent a PLTS License file (*.lic) in an email, the file must be stored in a specified location on your PC to allow the software to start and run with the features that are appropriate to your license.

  1. Software License Redemption and Software Download Process – After you receive a "Software License and Software Update Service Subscription Entitlement Certificate," use this process to get the required license file and to download your new software. The certificate is included in an email and in the original PLTS shipment.

  2. Requesting Software Updates – If your current SUS (Software Update Service) subscription is active, use this process to request the PLTS software updates when notified by email that they are available.

  3. Software Update Service (SUS) Extension Process – When your SUS subscription is about to expire, or has already expired, use this process to renew it.

Once a valid License (*.lic file) is stored on your computer, the following topics can help to manage the file using PLTS.
