Description

Selects the trigger hysteresis or sensitivity. Trigger hysteresis helps to prevent false triggers from occurring on a falling edge due to noise when the rising edge is selected as the trigger edge (or on a rising edge when the falling edge is selected as the trigger edge). The voltage through which the trigger signal must pass before another valid trigger is accepted is known as the arming voltage level. Hysteresis is the voltage difference between the arming level voltage and the trigger threshold level voltage.

NORMal
The Infiniium triggering system is set, by default, to normal trigger sensitivity. In this mode, hysteresis is used in the trigger circuit to prevent incorrect double-triggering on low bandwidth waveforms. This is the normal sensitivity of all Infiniium oscilloscopes. Normal sensitivity should be used for all waveforms 4 GHz or below in frequency.
NREJect
This selection provides the greatest amount of hysteresis. With noisy signals, more false triggers are rejected.
HSENsitivity
The triggering system in higher bandwidth Infiniium oscilloscopes has a high-sensitivity trigger mode that lowers the hysteresis, allowing the oscilloscope to trigger on higher frequency waveforms. High sensitivity should be used for waveforms above 4 GHz.
