86100D DC Cal Output
The 86100D's front-panel calibration output (DC Cal) is used to
- manually verify the DC accuracy of a module's electrical channel calibration and to
- calibrate a probe.
In the Front Panel Cal Output dialog, you can adjust the DC Cal output voltage to 0V ±2V. For best calibration accuracy, set the calibration output level to a voltage other than 0.0V. The default level is 5.0 mV. Setting the level above approximately ±800 mV will require that you offset the waveform display, add an external attenuator, or both.
To Verify Electrical-Channel Calibration DC Accuracy
- Connect a cable between the DC Cal output and the module's channel input. Or, use the DC Cal output probe hook.
- Set the calibration output level using Front Panel Cal Output dialog.
- Confirm that the measured calibration output level is the level entered in the dialog.
If you want to measure the calibration output level using an Keysight 86108A, 86116B, 86116C or 86118A module, you will need to make a custom cable. The custom cable is a normal cable with a series resistance added (50 ohm ±0.1%). Connect your test cable between the front-panel Cal output and the module's electrical input. The measured value of the calibration output level is one half of the level shown in the front-panel Cal Output dialog. This custom cable is not available from Keysight Technologies.
