Description

Establishes the method used to create a connection to a DCA-X instrument. The Factory Preset setting is LAN.

LAN
Specifies a LAN connection. Use the :RDCA:CONNect:HOST command to enter the actual host ID of the DCA-X.
USB

Specifies a USB connection. Use the :RDCA:CONNect:USB:SADDress command to query or specify the USB address of the DCA-X. When you connect the USB cable, FlexDCA automatically discovers the DCA-X on USB. Use a USB 3.0 type A to Type B cable where the Type B plug is connected to the DCA-X's rear-panel Type B receptical which is shown in the following picture.

Do not connect the USB cable to the DCA-X's rear panel USB Type A receptical. The USB connection only works if the cable is connected to the USB Type B device-side receptical.

Requires FlexDCA revision A.06.40 and above for connections via USB.

GPIB
Specifies a GPIB connection. Use the :RDCA:CONNect:GPIB:INAMe command to specify the GPIB interface address and the :RDCA:CONNect:GPIB:ADDRess command to enter the actual address of the DCA-X.
