Customize Port Connectors and Cal Kits
When performing the Calibration's Step 2, use Customize Port Connectors and Cal Kits dialog when the DUT's ports use different RF connectors. The dialog specifies the type of RF Connectors on each of the DUT's ports and the Calibration Kits that you plan to use during the calibration. The Calibration Kits selections are standard mechanical kits and are not displayed when you have selected to use an ECal Module in the TDR Calibration Setup dialog.
Connectors Field
Specify the type of connector on each of the DUT's ports. Selections are available for all DUTs regardless of the calibration method selected. Supported connector types include 1.85 mm, 2.4 mm, 2.92 mm, and 3.5 mm (both male and female). If all of the RF connections are of the identical type, select All Connectors Match.
Calibration Kits Field
When not using an ECal module, select the standard mechanical calibration kit that you will use for each of the DUT's ports. The 85056A/D and 85058B/D kits contain precision standard opens, shorts, and loads as well as adapters to change the sex of the test port connector. Gauges for verifying and maintaining the connector interface and a torque wrench are also provided. If you plan to use the same calibration kit for all of the ports, select Use Single Cal Kit. Using a generic calibration kit can result in compromised measurement results.
Always use precision loads during a calibration. Calibrations performed using non-precision loads can fail or result in inaccurate results. High quality shorts and precision terminations can be purchased with the N1024A/B TDR Calibration Kit.
