:CHANnel:PROBe:MODE

Command Syntax

:CHANnelN:PROBe:MODE {DIFFerential | ASIDe | BSIDe | CMODe}

Where N identifies a specific channel in the form "<connection1-8>_<ch1-8>". With connection 1, the connection number part (that is, "1_") is optional, and you can simply use the channel number "<ch1-8>". For example, connection 4 channel 2 is CHANnel4_2.

Query Syntax

:CHANnelN:PROBe:MODE?

Description

Specifies the mode for InfiniiMode probes:

  • DIFFerential — Differential: A - B
  • ASIDe — Single-ended A: A - ground
  • BSIDe — Single-ended B: B - ground
  • CMODe — Common mode: (A+B) / 2 - ground

Examples of InfiniiMode probes are:

For most probes, the mode is determined by the physical hardware. All passive probes are single ended. Probes with an active differential amplifier are differential. For these probes, the mode is read-only and cannot be changed.

If a multimode probe is attached, not all modes may be available. The selection can be limited by the head attached and how the probe is connected to your circuit. Multimode probes often require a grounding connection to your circuit. Each mode has different attenuations and offsets that are applied to the signal. This mode selection will also change whether oscilloscope offset, probe offset, or both are allowed (see :CHANnel:PROBe:OMODe).
