The N109228CA application allows you to test network elements against the Implementation Agreement for Optical Internetworking Forum Common Electrical Interface (OIF CEI) 3.0. The following licenses are available:

• N1012A-CEI. OIF CEI Compliance Application
• N1012A-7FP. OIF CEI Compliance Switch Control

Because these elements are designed to carry up to 100 GBd using four lanes of 25 to 28 GBd, transferring these signals on printed circuit boards, even for short distances, presents major challenges. The easy-to-use N1012A enables you to automatically determine optimal value of CTLE Peaking.

Because satisfying the broad requirements of the CEI 3.0 Implementation Agreement can be very complex, the N1012A can save valuable test time thus allowing you to focus on improving your design. The N1012A automatically configures testing parameters that take into account the following items:

• Symbol rates for each interface have a range, rather than a fixed rate as is common to many standards.
• Required tests varies between each CEI 3.0 interface.
• Test limits varies between each CEI 3.0 interface.
• Some limits depend upon previous measurements to perform the final calculations.
