:CALibrate:OPTical:USER:CHANnel:STARt
Command Syntax
:CALibrate:OPTical:USER:CHANnel{1:8}{A|B|C|D}:STARt
Where the required specifier {1:8}{A|B|C|D}
identifies a channel by its module slot number and channel letter. For example, channel 3C (CHANnel3C
).
The channel specifier will fail if it does not include a slot number. If instead the suffix's channel letter is missing, the command defaults to letter A
. As a result, the best practice is to always explicitly specify the channel by including both the module slot number and channel letter.
Description
On N1090A DCA-M extended hardware modules, starts an optical calibration at a user wavelength on the indicated channel.
To specify the wavelength for the calibration, use the :WAVelength
sibling command. To specify the optical power used in the calibration, use the :OPOWer
sibling command. The wavelength and source power used must be within the ranges listed in the following table.
Module | Factory Calibrated Wavelength(s) | Allowable Calibration Optical Source Power Level | Source Power for Calibration to Meet Specifications |
---|---|---|---|
N1090A | 850 nm 1310 nm 1550 nm |
375 μW to 425 μW 175 μW to 225 μW 175 μW to 225 μW |
375 μW to 425 μW 175 μW to 225 μW 175 μW to 225 μW |
The minimum power level is recommended to assure specified performance over the instrument's full dynamic range. The calibration accuracy is heavily dependent on the accuracy to which you know the optical source power. For best results measure the optical source power with a high precision optical power meter.
Use the :STATus?
sibling query to return details about the current calibration.
Requires FlexDCA revision A.05.00 and above.
