Command Syntax

:ECONtour{1:16}:RNSValue:LEVel{0:3} <random_noise>

Where the required specifier {1:16} identifies a group of contour lines.

Where <random_noise> is a double.

Query Syntax

:ECONtour{1:16}:RNSValue:LEVel?

Description

For Random Noise (RN) stabilization, sets the value of RN for the selected eye level of an eye-contour group. PAM4 signals have four possible levels: 0, 1, 2, and 3. NRZ signals has two possible levels: 0 and 1. There are actually four commands, one for each eye level on the signal.

• :ECONtour{1:16}:RNSValue:LEVel3 (for PAM4 only)
• :ECONtour{1:16}:RNSValue:LEVel2 (for PAM4 only)
• :ECONtour{1:16}:RNSValue:LEVel1 (for NRZ and PAM4)
• :ECONtour{1:16}:RNSValue:LEVel0 (for NRZ and PAM4)

To measure the RN, switch the N1000A to Jitter Mode and measure the RN while using a signal that has a short pattern. Or, measure the RN using a separate instrument. Use the :ECONtour:RNSTabilize command to turn on or off the use of RN stabilization.
