Command Syntax

:HISTogramN:WINDow:Y{1:2} <amplitude>

<amplitude> is an double.

Where N identifies one of four possible histograms {1:4} that you can design. For example, :HISTogram3.

Query Syntax

:HISTogramN:WINDow:Y{1:2}?

Description

When creating a histogram's window, the Y1 and Y2 commands to define the position of the top and bottom histogram window border in volts. This command, along with :HISTogram:WINDow:X, define the region of the database that is used to construct the histogram. Only this region of the database will be used to calculate the histogram results.

Two common uses for histograms are measuring and characterizing noise or jitter on displayed waveforms. Noise is measured by sizing the histogram window to a narrow portion of time and observing a vertical histogram that measures the noise on a flat section of a waveform. Jitter is measured by sizing the histogram window to a narrow amplitude portion and observing a horizontal histogram that measures the jitter on an edge.
