Command Behaviour Change: Starting with FlexDCA revision A.05.80, this command only specifies the saved file's filename and should no longer include a filename extension.

Command Syntax

:LTESt:LLINe:SWAVeform:DIFFN:FNAMe "<path substitution string>\subfolder\filename"

Where:

  • DIFFN identifies the differential channel as in DIFF1A, DIFF2C, …, DIFF8A.
  • "<path substitution string> is a string that expands into a specific file path. For example, %USER_DATA_DIR%.
  • "subfolder" is an optional path folder. For example, %USER_DATA_DIR%\Waveforms.
  • "filename" is a string without the filename extension.

Query Syntax

:LTESt:LLINe:SWAVeform:DIFFN:FNAMe?

Description

Specifies the file name (including path but excluding a filename extension) for saving a differential waveform file for an acquisition limit test. To specify the file type use the :LTESt:LLINe:SWAVeform:DIFF:FTYPe command. This results in the correct filename extension being appended to the filename. This command supports the DEFault common child command.

If a correct filename extension is included in the filename that is sent with the :LTESt:ACQuire:SWAVeform:DIFF:FNAMe command, the extension is ignored and will not be included in the filename. If an incorrect filename extension is included in the filename, a SCPI error will occur similar to this example:

17,"Instrument Error;"".txt"" is not a valid extension for Waveform File. Using extension "".csv""."

Therefore, avoid including an extension when specifying the filename. If you want to check the validity of the filetype, check for a SCPI error after sending the :LTESt:LLINe:SWAVeform:DIFF:FTYPe command.

Use the :LTESt:LLINe:SWAVeform:DIFF:STATe command to enable and disable waveform reporting for the channel. To enable or disable acquisition limit tests, use the :LTESt:LLINe:TEST:STATe command.

Default User Folder

User-Data Folders

The default folder for storing differential waveform files is in %USER_DATA_DIR%\Waveforms as shown in this picture. It is good practice to include a path substitution string with the filename. For example, %USER_DATA_DIR%\Waveforms\filename.

File names must include a path when using the child :FNAMe command. The :FNAMe command is not affected by a Default Setup or Factory Preset.

Specifying a path using a path substitution string in the filename ensures that the file will be saved in (or loaded from) the standard user-data folder. Failure to use a path substitution string may result either in a file created in an parent folder or a file error.
