Query Syntax
:SYSTem:SIGNal:TYPE? <waveform>
Where the <waveform> can be selected from a channel, differential channel, function, waveform memory, or jitter memory:
CHAN{1:8}{A:D}. For example, CHAN2B.
DIFF{1:8}{A | C}. For example, DIFF4C.
CMODe{1:8}{A|C}. For example, CMODe2C.
WMEMory{1:8}. For example, WMEMory2.

Description
This query returns the current signal type that is assigned or detected for the specified waveform. The command serves the same purpose as the :CHANnel:SIGNal:TYPE? and :DIFF:SIGNal:TYPE? queries. The following responses can be returned:
NRZ- NRZ signal type.
PAM4- PAM4 signal type.
UNSPecified- Undetermined signal type.
The signal type is automatic detected when the following commands are turned on, which is the default mode:
The PAM4 argument is only available if options 9FP or 9TP PAM-N Analysis software license is installed.
