:JSOurce:SCRate
Command Syntax
:JSOurce:SCRate <system clock rate>
Where <system clock rate> is a double.
Query Syntax
:JSOurce:SCRate?
Description
Sets the M8000-series Source's System Clock Rate. The System Clock Rate is the bit frequency of the M8000-series BERT's internal pattern generator. The System Clock Rate is used to derive the Clock Rate and Symbol Rate depending on the Source's output waveform type: CLOCk
or DATA
as set with the :JSOurce:WTYPe
command.
If the source's output waveform is a clock
Use the :JSOurce:WTYPe CLOCk
command to select a CLOCk
type. FlexPLL forces the Clock Rate (:JSOurce:RATE
command) to be an integer sub-rate of the System Clock Rate. Clock Rate is the frequency of the generated clock output signal. The output clock is created by a sequence of 0s and 1s from the BERT's internal pattern generator. For example, if the System Clock Rate is 10 GHz and the Clock Rate is 2.5 GHz, the clock signal is build from a repeated 0011
bit stream played at 10 GHz.
If the source's output waveform is data
Use the :JSOurce:WTYPe DATA
command to select a DATA
type. FlexPLL forces the M8000-series Source's output Symbol Rate to be an integer sub or super-rate of the System Clock Rate.
For best measurement results, ensure that the System Clock Rate is the same frequency during the calibration as is used during the measurements.
Follow the :JSOurce:SCRate
command with the *OPC?
common query.
