Command Syntax

:CHANnelN:PATTern:MODE {ADETect | KPATtern | PFILe}

Where N identifies a specific channel in the form "<connection1-8>_<ch1-8>". With connection 1, the connection number part (that is, "1_") is optional, and you can simply use the channel number "<ch1-8>". For example, connection 4 channel 2 is CHANnel4_2.

Query Syntax

:CHANnelN:PATTern:MODE?

Description

For data measurements like BER/SER (Bit/Symbol Error Ratio) where the measurement must know the pattern of a data signal, this command selects how the pattern is determined:

  • ADETect — (Auto Detect) This option tells the oscilloscope to automatically determine the pattern length and pattern by looking for at least two error-free copies of an identical repeating bit pattern in acquisition memory.

  • KPATtern — (Known Pattern) This option lets you select the pattern from a list of known patterns (see :CHANnel:PATTern:KPATtern).

  • PFILe — (Pattern File) This option lets you load a pattern file that tells the oscilloscope the pattern length and pattern to measure against.

    Use the :CHANnel:PATTern:FILE:NAME command to select the pattern file.
