Command Syntax

:SYSTem:DSP  <message_string>

<message_string> is a string.

Query Syntax

:SYSTem:DSP?

Description

Writes a string to the message line on FlexDCA's display. The example message line "Connect the data signal to channel 2A." is shown on the following figure. Messages are removed from the display in approximately 10 seconds. The maximum string length that you can send is 255 characters. Strings over 108 characters are truncated when displayed in the message line even though any undisplayed characters remain in the message queue. Sending the query form of this command returns the last string written to FlexDCA and empties the message queue.

Strings over 255 characters long result in the following advisory message: "−223, Too much data;Maximum of 255 character(s) exceeded".
