Overview of Performance Tests

This section describes all available performance tests for the E8257D, E8267D, E8257N and E8663D signal generators.  These performance tests verify that the signal generator meets specifications.

In all test equipment configurations, cables and adapters must be properly torqued. Exceeding recommended torque values can cause damage to a cable or adapter, and can cause inaccurate test results.

Type-N

Type-N connectors may be connected finger tight.
If you wish to use a torque wrench, a 8710-1766 at 12 lb-inch is recommended.


When performing performance verification tests using an 82357A/B USB/GPIB interface converter and PSG-D units with serial prefix >= 4928, SCPI errors or a GPIB timeout may occur. If these errors occur with the USB/GPIB interface, repeat the performance verification tests using a GPIB card connection to the PSG-D.

Recommended Calibration Cycle

Perform the tests listed below at least once every 24 months.
