N7872A Adjustments Overview

Running an adjustment will invalidate the calibration date of that module as well as the calibration information for all PXIe systems that the module belongs to.
At the start of each adjustment, the user may experience a delay of up to two minutes as the application initializes and gathers information to run the adjustment. This is normal behavior.
The digitizer, synthesizer, and downconverter modules must be within one trigger bus (slot 1-6, slot 7-12, or slot 13-18). If they are not, then the trigger busses must connected. It is highly recommended to install the modules in slots 2-6. The M9300A frequency reference module must be installed in slot 10 of the chassis.
In all test equipment configurations, cables and adapters must be properly torqued. Exceeding recommended torque values can cause damage to a cable or adapter which may produce inaccurate test results.

Adjustments for the PXIe signal analyzer instruments are module-level adjustments. Adjustments for the M9300A frequency reference module are supported by the separate calibration application N7873A.

Never perform adjustments as routine maintenance. Adjustments should be performed only after a repair or performance test failure. If any performance test fails, do the following:

For the M9391A, run all of the adjustments in the order shown below with the exception of the Downconverter/Digitizer Pairing Cal adjustment (M9391A only). If it's necessary to replace a module, then a pre-calibrated module will be placed into the instrument bundle and no additional adjustments are required.
For the M9393A, run all of the adjustments including the Reconfiguration Alignment. If it's necessary to replace a module, then a pre-calibrated module will be placed into the instrument bundle and only run the Reconfiguration Alignment.
