Command Syntax

:CHANnel{1:8}{A|B|C|D}:SIRC:PNOise {PRMS | SPECtrum}

Where the required specifier {1:8}{A|B|C|D} identifies a channel by its module slot number and channel letter. For example, channel 3C (CHANnel3C).

The channel specifier will fail if it does not include a slot number. If instead the suffix's channel letter is missing, the command defaults to letter A. As a result, the best practice is to always explicitly specify the channel by including both the module slot number and channel letter.

Query Syntax

:CHANnel{1:8}{A|B|C|D}:SIRC:PNOise?

Description

Selects the method used by a SIRC filter to preserve noise. The selections are:

  • PRMS. Applies preserve RMS noise handling where the noise magnitude is kept the same as the channel.
  • SPECtrum. Applies process spectrum noise handling where the filter increases or decreases the noise based on whether SIRC is increasing or decreasing bandwidth. The noise power spectrum is assumed to match the channel response. This was the method used before revision A.06.60.

Requires FlexDCA revision A.06.60 and above.

Example Command

:CHANnel2A:SIRC:PNOise PRMS
