CER TDECQ
The CER TDECQ (Codeword Error Ratio Transmitter and Dispersion Eye Closure Quaternary) measurement is a power penalty measurement of a PAM4 optical transmitter's quality. It differs from a TDECQ measurement in that it is based on a codeword error ratio rather than a symbol error ratio. Use a TDECQ Equalizer function when making this measurement. The measurement requires a PAM4 waveform.
You can configure the CER Codeword definitions and Target CER error rate for this measurement in the following three dialogs. Making a change in one of these dialogs also changes the setting in the other dialog. The settings are linked.
- PAM-N Analysis Setup dialog. Click the PAM Setup button that is located on page 1 of 6 on the PAM toolbar, and select the dialog's TDECQ Configuration tab.
- TDECQ Reference Equalizer Setup dialog. Click on the TDECQ Equalizer function to open the TDECQ Reference Equalizer Setup dialog. Select the TDECQ Measurement tab.
- Reference Receiver Setup dialog. Click on the Reference Receiver function to open the Reference Receiver Setup dialog. Select the TDECQ Measurement tab.
For compliance measurements, use a Waveform Signal Processing TDECQ Equalizer operator.
