Description
Selects the RN compensation which removes intrinsic oscilloscope noise from the measurement results. Use the following arguments.
OFF
- RN compensation is turned off and measurements include the oscilloscope's intrinsic noise.
AUTomatic
- Oscilloscope intrinsic noise is removed from measurements. This should be the selection for RIN measurements on an optical signal.
CUStom
- Deprecated. This selection is not recommended, but allows you to manually enter the RN one level and zero level compensation values with the deprecated
:MEASure:AMPLitude:DEFine:RNCValue:ONE
and:MEASure:AMPLitude:DEFine:RNCValue:ZERO
commands. Depending on the type of signal that you are measuring enter the values in volts (electrical) or watts (optical). Estimate the Random Noise that is contributed by the N1000A by disconnecting all cables and signals from the oscilloscope's input and then measuring Vrms (AC) in Oscilloscope mode.
Amplitude analysis must be turned on before the first interference measurement can be made. Use the :MEASure:AMPLitude:DEFine:ANALysis
command.
