Creating Masks

The <DataRate> element is required, as the inverse of the symbol rate establishes the Delta Time setting in the Mask Test Scaling dialog box. This specifies the symbol period in seconds. This is the time difference between the eye-diagram's crossing points. The symbol rate is also written on the Mask Test panel as shown in the following figure. The symbol rate string should be written in exponential notation as shown in the example at the end of this topic. Notice that the proper units have been appended on the label. The label string is automatically truncated to fit the available space on the panel. If the element is missing or its content is empty, 0 Bd is written on the Mask Test panel.
