Query Syntax

:EMODules:AWGeneratorN:STATus:REASon?

Where N identifies slot number {1:8} which is associated with an AWG instrument.

Description

Returns a string that explains why or if the AWG's memory accurately represents the settings in FlexDCA's AWG Setup dialog. This is the text that is shown at the top of the AWG Setup dialog. The following strings are examples of possible returned strings:

AWG memory is up to date.
The settings in the AWG's memory are correct and matche the setting shown in the AWG Setup dialog. The query returned by the :EMODules:AWGenerator:STATus? query for this reason is CORR.
Updating AWG…
FlexDCA is currently attempting to updated the AWG's memory. The query returned by the :EMODules:AWGenerator:STATus? query for this reason is CORR.
Press 'Send to Instrument' to update AWG.
The Auto Update setting in the AWG Setup dialog is not selected. Send the :EMODules:AWGenerator:SEND command. The query returned by the :EMODules:AWGenerator:STATus? query for this reason is QUES.
Update Disabled: File Symbol Rate is too low.
The contents of a Waveform file for Symbol Rate is too short for the minimum rate that can be accurately be generated by this AWG. The query returned by the :EMODules:AWGenerator:STATus? query for this reason is INV.
Update Disabled: File Symbol Rate is too high.
The contents of a Waveform file for Symbol Rate is too high and exceeds the maximum rate that can be accurately generated by this AWG. The query returned by the :EMODules:AWGenerator:STATus? query for this reason is INV.
Update Disabled: File Pattern Length is too low.
The contents of a Waveform file for Pattern Length is too short and cannot be used to configure the AWG. The query returned by the :EMODules:AWGenerator:STATus? query for this reason is INV.
Update Disabled: File Pattern Length is too high.
The contents of a Waveform file are Pattern Length is too long to fit in the AWG's memory at the given symbol rate and cannot be used to configure the AWG. The query returned by the :EMODules:AWGenerator:STATus? query for this reason is INV.
The connection to Arbitrary Waveform Generator has timed out.
This string can be an indication that the AWG has been turned off or the LAN connection has failed. The query returned by the :EMODules:AWGenerator:STATus? query for this reason is INV.

Use the :EMODules:AWGenerator:STATus? parent query to return the state of the AWG's memory.
