The performance verification and functional tests are designed to provide the highest level of confidence that the instrument being tested conforms to published, factory-set specifications. Specifications and typicals for FieldFox analyzers can be found in the Data Sheet located on the Keysight website. Click on the Document Library tab.
Tests must be performed while the FieldFox internal temperature is within the range specified in the warm-up section. Each test will check the UUT's internal temperature sensors at the beginning and at the end of the test. The values will be included in the report.
If the analyzer is unable to pass any of the tests, then adjustments or repairs may be needed.
There are two types of tests: performance and functional.
performance test — Measures the UUT performance against one or more warranted performance specifications. The specifications determine the test limits. Measurement uncertainties are available to comply with international standards for calibration.
functional test — Directly tests hardware functionality that does not have warranted performance specifications. Any numerical results are for informational purposes only. If the functional test includes test limits, they are generally related to typical performance characteristics but may be larger than published typical values. The limits have been set wide enough to account for measurement uncertainty and ensure that the hardware is not defective. Functional test results should not be interpreted as statements of compliance.
The failure of either a performance test or a functional test indicates the need for adjustment or repair.
The tests to be performed are determined by the FieldFox model number. Follow the links below for each model's list of required tests. Refer to the test page for specific model and option requirements. To expand all, click the Expand All button

The Functional Area column in the tables below indicate if a given test applies exclusively to the NA (network analyzer) function, the SA (spectrum analyzer) function, or to both.
